Although i was not able to watch the mooc talk due to computer issues so i still read through the slides.
The presentation seemed to focus more on a broader scale than just metaliteracy. Dr. Prinsloo seemed very focused on finding which external and internal forces effect how we make decisions. Prinsloo sites a very interesting quote "The act of learning to read and write start from a very comprehensive understanding of the act of reading the world", this got me thinking, is our ability to write and read information a higher form of our ability to process thoughts?.
Dr. Prinsloo than takes a look at what external and internal factors work on us as we make a decision, the field he defines as the space which has been shaped by various forces from which we make any decision. this field has changed drastically over the last 15 years, with the introduction of the internet people have access to information like never before.
The graphic of the metaliteracy circle really drove home this concept for me, the field is what defines the context that we think in. it would be interesting to know if we will ever be able to define the field accurately or if the factors that contribute to it are to many to count.

Metacognition
Metacognition is a very interesting idea too me, as it is defined it is "the act of thinking about how one thinks". This can be a very useful tool to any person who wants to think logically about a situation. when someone can think about the way they think from a third person view they are able to identify and remove unwanted bias' from there thought process. By engaging in metacognition people are essentially preforming a mental version of checks and balances on their ideas. #metaliteracy

First post
I think that the idea of metaliteracy is very thoughtful and dynamic. In a world as connected by social media as our own, a new way to search and share scholoraly information is needed. By letting people create and critic ideas in a realtime way as opposed too traditional librarys a much more dynamic enviornment is made for the creation and consumtion of ideas. #metaliteracy
